In the face of a dire weather forecast, 6 members braved the elements to attend the monthly ride. Theo, Alan R, Mike and Tim were on bikes while Murray and Tony turned up in cars. But not to worry, the emphasis was not on the ride so much as on checking out a wonderful collection of Triumphs, BSAs and Nortons (with the odd Yamaha thrown in). None of us had seen it before so it was an eye-opening experience. It’s not every day you encounter a pair of Meriden Triumphs and a Norton Rotary that have never been ridden! A lunch stop at the excellent Rosebowl cafe in Feilding was followed by all four bikes heading for the Kickstand bike accessory shop in Hunterville via Vinegar Hill and then home via Fordell. The weather gods were very kind to us and the worst weather was between Fordell and Wanganui on the way home. A great ride considering the threatened conditions.
