Here are some photos of a roof renewal project undertaken Sunday 11th at the clubrooms by members of the Wanganui chapter to our chapter site. The old roof was the original, making it about 50 years old. It was in a condition that reflected its age, leaks galore and a never ending job of plugging them, at one stage placing a 20 litre plastic rubbish bin under a major leak! Surprisingly, when the old iron was removed, the timber was found to be in quite good condition. All credit to the guys involved in this project, with quite a few of them being tradesmen their professionalism and quality of workmanship was of the highest standard.

For a first attempt it went well, around 50 registered with a good variety of bikes and three racing sidechairs displayed, one being a pre unit T/bird that regularly races at the cemetery circuit and even made it over to the Isle of Man,another a 750 Bonneville and the other a 71 Trident, not quite complete but never the less very interesting. Plenty of food was sold, the weather was excellent and the bar did well once it was opened! All in all it has given us something to build on and the guy's are keen to do it again next year!
