2010
National TOMCC Rally, 12th, 13th & 14th February 2010
Our
next National Rally is to be held the furthest south that it has ever
been. A grand opportunity for our northern members to experience our
famed Southern Hospitality as well as the uncrowded roads offering
superb riding through stunning mountain scenery. You won’t be
disappointed!
As a South Island event the rally will be hosted jointly by the
Otago/Southland Chapter and the Canterbury Chapter with the venue being
the Waiora Scout Camp nestled in the picturesque Silverstream Valley
among the bush clad hills surrounding the Taieri Plains, just a short
ride from historic Dunedin. The venue is ideal for our rally, being well
away from residential areas, yet close enough to be able to enjoy all
that Dunedin and Mosgiel have to offer within a very short riding
distance. The Waiora Scout Camp has a few cabins available with
more bunkrooms attached to the Main Assembly Hall. This accommodation
will initially be allocated to North Island members and if there are any
bunks still free, South Island members may have use of them on a first
come - first served basis.
Other facilities include kitchens, clean toilets, showers, drying room,
campfire facility and plenty of space for those who will be using tents.
Pre-paid, hearty, well cooked, home-style meals will be provided by the
Mosgiel Lions Club. Their members provide invaluable assistance to local
charities and to those in need. This is also a way for us to provide
some support to a local good cause. Snacks and fast food will also be
available throughout the day and evening.
Tea and Coffee, as is our usual custom, will be free. Bar facilities
will include a good range of beers, RTDs and soft drinks.
There is a group discount available for those members who need to use
the Interislander ferry. When making your booking ring 0800-878-898
quoting Group Booking Reference: FA5366.
